The staff at CSD Sports Framing & Memorabilia routinely preserve high-value artifacts behind glass—from Emmitt Smith's Dancing with the Stars outfit to a piece of the floor from Michael Jordan's last game—but that's not the only thing that sets this framing store apart. The framers here handcraft nearly every aspect their projects in-house, including the frame, mounts, and custom engravings.
Although the framing of art and memorabilia is their primary focus, the staff still traffics in the autographed merchandise that helped launch their business. Visitors to the shop can ogle a Hall of Fame football
signed by the Dallas Cowboys and renew the Curse of the Bambino on a Red Sox World Series banner.
The tech-savvy staff at Replicopy transfers sights and sounds from VHS, Hi8, 8mm and 16mm film, mini-DV or DVCAM to DVD, as well as bulk-cloning 100 CDs on request. Preserve two-hour visual records of disastrous birthday parties on DVD or noise-only recordings of hour-long staring contests on CD, discarding antiquated or degenerating formats in favor of pristine new disc-based mediums. Alternatively, technicians can supply 100 copies of CDs, replicating its original sound and cover art exactly. Both services are completed in about a week, depending on the current workload of Replicopy employees.
What inspired you to become a photographer?
I have loved photography since high school. I took a few classes in school and found out that I have a knack for it. I love being able to capture those special moments in a person?s life that they can look back on and reminisce about how they felt at that particular moment. It's just about the sweetest thing you can do for someone.
Who are some of your favorite photographers?
Some local photographers here in Dallas?Fort Worth are amazing. Luckily I have been able to sit down with a couple of them and have their input. It's been amazing!
How would you describe your style or approach to photography?
I only like to shoot when lighting is the best, either early morning or later in the afternoon. I love sun flare but there are some occasions when I like to really let colors stand out in a picture. Especially eyes!
How do you set your subjects at ease?
I just talk. I tell them about myself and ask about them. I like to know who it is I am taking pictures of so I know what type of style they may have or what it is they are looking for in their pictures. If I ask 20 questions, it's because I really want to know what makes them tick.
