  • Fun Junction USA
Since its inception as a small park in 1990, Dixieland Amusement Park has grown to include more than 20 rides and attractions for kids and parents alike. From high-flying cable coasters to speedy go-karts, the park's attractions foster adrenaline-fueled joy, while the Digital Armory, a bustling arcade, transports visitors to a virtual world with motion sensors and laser tag. Dining areas pepper the park's walkways for between-ride snacks, and, come nightfall, fireworks fill the sky to entertain visitors and idling pigeons.

  • Polobear Polo Club
An official training center for the United States Polo Association, the Polobear Polo Club will teach the basics of the game to interested riders of any skill level. Each experienced instructor will demonstrate how to safely hold and swing the mallet, basic riding techniques, and rudimentary rules and strategy (rule one: no centaurs). Next, each student will be introduced to one of Polobear's training horses. After bonding with the animal (ideally while building a deck together), you'll take to the facility's large, grassy polo field and test out your polo-tential. Classes take place in groups of six or fewer so that all students receive detailed one-on-one guidance. Call to schedule your lesson.

  • Elders Mill Road Waterfall and Campsite
Even if you've never been to Elders Mill Road Waterfall and Campsite, its landscape might look eerily familiar. That's because the waterfall itself narrowly escaped a zombie attack at the end of The Walking Dead season two, when the group ran out of gas on a highway and was forced to camp for the night. And the campsite's rickety farmhouse housed a family of gangsters running a moonshine business in the movie Lawless. Fortunately for fans, the staffers lead movie tours, making stops at the filming sites for those productions and others. Their tours also help guests re-enact scenes from the film The War starring Kevin Costner, TV show Revolution, and film A Christmas Memory starring Patty Duke, who beneath her sunny smile is actually a vampire in real life.
