Atlanta Tours

Atlanta tours are some of the most interesting you can find in any US city. In Atlanta, you can take a tour of just about everything—explore places important to Civil Rights leaders on the Atlanta Black History Tour, including the birth home of Martin Luther King, Jr., and other MLK historical sites. Or check out breweries and other Atlanta nightlife hotspots. The list of things to do in Atlanta is as varied as the city's history, and there are always plenty of Atlanta events you won’t want to miss.

Frequently Asked Questions

The most popular sightseeing options in Atlanta are city bus tours, electric car tours, guided walking routes, and bike tours that loop key sites like Centennial Olympic Park, World of Coca-Cola, and the Georgia Aquarium. Many first-timer itineraries also include themed excursions such as civil rights history or film-location routes.

Most guided Atlanta city tours range from about $40 to $100 per adult, depending on length, group size, and whether transportation is included. Short walking tours tend to sit at the lower end, while half‑day bus or hop‑on, hop‑off experiences with multiple stops land toward the upper range.

Guided tours are usually best if you want to cover a lot of ground quickly and understand the stories behind places like the civil rights landmarks or Olympic sites. Self-guided days work well once you’ve oriented yourself and want to linger in spots such as the BeltLine or Piedmont Park.

Families usually enjoy city tours that combine stops near the Georgia Aquarium, Centennial Olympic Park, and kid-focused museums with easy walking or bus transfers. Many operators offer 2–4 hour daytime routes with frequent breaks, stroller-friendly sidewalks, and flexible photo stops for younger children.

Yes, several sightseeing experiences are designed for visitors without a car, combining MARTA access with guided walking or bike routes around downtown and the BeltLine. Many tours start near central train stations or major hotels so you can rely on transit and short walks instead of driving.

Evening sightseeing often centers on nightlife shuttles and brewery routes that link popular taprooms and lounges with hosted transportation between stops. Typical experiences last 3–4 hours, include a guide, and let you see the city lights while sampling local beer or cocktails in different neighborhoods.

Yes, many visitors save money by booking weekday departures, joining small-group departures, or using attraction passes that bundle multiple stops into one price. Locals often look on Groupon for limited‑time vouchers on city bus routes, themed walking tours, and seasonal special events.

For popular spring and fall weekends, booking city tours at least one to two weeks ahead usually secures your preferred time, especially for small-group options. Same-week spots sometimes appear, but peak days around big events or conventions often fill well in advance.

This is amazing! It’s worth the money! Wear comfortable shoes bc you’ll be doing a lot of walking. There’s a lot of people there in the middle of the day. Go to the website for the cost of food & drinks. Parking is $30+ unless you find somewhere to park and walk, which may not be easy at all. They have bag & stroller rules. Dolphin show was cool, sea lions were booked, my feet hurt but it was fun!
