Sur La Table is everything cooking. Taking most people’s love for a well-cooked meal to the absolute limit, then provide superior quality cooking ware, dining sets, tea sets, even going so far as to offer a range of cooking classes. They started out as a small, unassuming store in Seattle’s Pike Place Market. Their love of exceptional quality culinary tools caused both professional chefs and food enthusiasts to gravitate towards them, leading to a success that birthed a second, then a third store. They remain true to their humble origins though, featuring the same charmingly disheveled layout that makes it feel as if you’re stepping into a treasure chest.

Ice cream is almost the perfect food. Almost. After all, if it were perfect, then the Tipsy Dessert Bar wouldn't have stumbled on such a simple improvement—infuse it with high-proof alcohol. The creamery doesn't just sell it, either. It hosts classes on the process of infusion, equipping students to make their own treats such as the French Toasted, with cinnamon schnapps, whipped cream vodka, and maple whiskey. Even better, these potent goodies are made with non-dairy ingredients, making them friendly even to people with dietary restrictions. The Tipsy Dessert Bar is primarily known for these sort of nummy nightcaps, but the space also hosts paint-and-sip classes and other special events.
Executive chef Michael Cortez and executive sous-chef Jordy Miranda lend their private cooking services to clients looking to add gourmet pizzazz to private parties, special occasions, and everyday meals. In addition to cooking up a gastronomic storm, the chefs also elucidate the finer points of preparing haute cuisine during gourmet group cooking classes. Under the stone archways of the The Cellar Door winery, students learn to craft small salads from seasonal vegetables and roasted nuts, cook up entrees such as garlic-herb-roasted lamb and citrus-poached lobster, and pull together desserts such as lemon tiramisu with professional panache.
