The team at Genesis Total Health doesn't attempt to solve all of their clients' problems with a single service. Instead, they embrace a holistic approach, using a range of tactics to treat the root causes of medical issues. They offer an array of wellness services, including chiropractic massage, QuickSlim Lipo, along with detox and weight-loss programs.
To tackle the diverse needs of their clients, the weight-loss team uses scientifically based methods that stress the habits needed to keep weight off permanently. For more medically complex cases, they work with a physician, rather than consulting with a roguishly good-looking TV doctor."Everyone is different," says program coordinator Tara Duque, noting that getting to the root metabolic causes of health issues is "the key to unlocking your goals, getting to them faster, and maintaining them." She and the rest of the staff prefer to use dietary programs designed to be sustainable, "instead of being another yo-yo diet plan with no end." Getting healthy is the main goal, she adds, while "weight loss is a side effect." But that doesn't mean the weight less isn't effective: Tara notes that most of the women drop 3–5 pounds a week on the program, while most men lose 4–7 pounds.
Though much of their job involves expertly channeling sound waves, the staff members at Xtreme Medical Spa aren't musicians. In fact, the vibrations that their equipment produces aren't audible to the human ear. These ultrasonic waves are crucial to noninvasive cavitation treatments, which aim to reduce cellulite in areas such as the abdomen, waist, and buttocks. An applicator held against the treatment area sends the waves to break up fat cells, which are then metabolized naturally, a process that reduces the telltale dimpling of the skin.
The spa's other services, though varied, also can have rejuvenating effects. Body wraps, vibration therapy, and vacuum therapy complement cavitation appointments by further promoting the disappearance of cellulite deposits. Alternatively, specialty facials incorporate Pevonia products to cleanse pores and combat skincare concerns, such as rosacea, fine lines, and blemishes that refuse to disappear even after being told to do so out loud in every language.

If potential clients want to see Miami Plastic Surgery’s doctors at work, they just need to turn on the TV. That’s because TLC’s “Body\Work” documents the work and lives of two of the center’s physicians—Drs. Michael Kelly and Carlos Wolf. The television series follows the plastic surgeons as they perform various procedures, including face-lifts and tummy tucks.
Off camera, Drs. Wolf and Kelly work alongside Miami Plastic Surgery’s staff of plastic surgeons, physician assistants, and medical aestheticians to offer a wide spectrum of surgical and non-surgical cosmetic treatments. In addition to cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries on the face and body, the center’s team specializes in med-spa services. These include skincare options such as Intraceuticals rejuvenating oxygen treatments and exfoliating chemical peels, as well as minimally invasive treatments that target cellulite and resurface skin.
To help restore clients' naturally youthful tone and texture, Grand Med Esthetic Center's technicians turn to a variety of high-tech skincare procedures. Whether using pulses of light to stimulate collagen production, sloughing away dead skin cells with microdermabrasion wands, or targeting stubborn fat deposits with ultrasound waves, the staff relies on some the best technology available.
That's not to say they lack the human touch, though. The aestheticians also perform traditional facials that nourish and moisturize the skin while treating the acne outbreaks that occur during every lunar eclipse. During massages, therapists ease tension and help clients relax by using gentle Swedish strokes, but they can also delve a bit further, performing therapeutic sessions that address chronic aches and pains by incorporating modalities such as deep-tissue pressure, myofascial release, and trigger-point therapy.
