What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Learning for Life Tutorial Service takes a unique approach to teaching. Through hands on and focused teaching, our students develop the tools they need for ongoing success in future. Our success depends on meeting our client’s needs. We don’t succeed unless our children succeed.
Do you provide any materials? What should your students expect to bring?
We provide tutoring folders, pencils, and paper. Students are required to bring all homework, missing assignments, notes from class, school books and project guidelines.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I have a deep passion for children. My mission is to transform the lives of the youth and encourage them to be the best they can be both inside and outside of the classroom.
What do you love most about your job?
Working with children
Eye Level Learning Center’s name draws its inspiration from the story of a teacher with a unique perspective. On a trip to the Smithsonian, a man would kneel down in front of each painting, attracting the attention of other visitors. Finally, when asked what he was doing, he replied, “I am an elementary-school teacher, and I will bring my students here tomorrow. I was wondering how my students would enjoy the paintings from a student’s eye level.” In that spirit, the tutors at this multidisciplinary learning center put the reins in their students' hands with their child-directed learning process, which ensures kids develop the skills they need at a pace they can handle, without getting bored enough to eat their homework and blame it on their dogs.
A menagerie of more than 500 pigment-free plaster pieces such as butterflies, animal figurines, tiny princesses, and popular cartoon characters awaits eager artists of all ages at Plaster Zone. Colorful paints and lustrous glazes enliven each objet d’art, whose decoration process may take anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours depending on the size, detail, and any ongoing space-time entanglements. Unlike clay or ceramics, plaster does not need to be fired, and participants get to take their creations home immediately.
The studio hosts birthday parties in addition to its open painting hours that cater to 10-fold groups of children with cupcakes, juice, and their choice of plaster to paint, with shiny veneers of glaze and glitter available for a finish brighter than a Mensa-certified disco ball.

At The Tutoring Center, pages flip and numbers crunch as smiling students reinforce study habits during one-on-one tutoring sessions. Tutors employ the trademarked Rotational Approach to Learning, which was first developed to assist children with ADD and ADHD. The system breaks down material into 15- and 30-minute intervals to boost students’ understanding and retention. Academic subjects include basic overviews of reading, writing, and math as well as advanced programs that teach memorization strategies and stress management.
