The Three Faces of Dio Deka
Michelin-Starred Greek Cuisine
Executive Chef Jeff Fitzgerald's mouthwatering menu of Hellenic cuisine includes many of Greece’s greatest culinary hits, including spanakotiropita and moussakas, but Dio Deka is not without surprises. An a la carte grill menu offers up filet mignon, ribeye, and veal porterhouse from Stockyards of Chicago; the hand-trimmed cuts then flame on the mesquite charcoal grills used for hundreds of years in Greece.
To-Die-For Wine List
Looking at a wine list 120 bottles long, one might think they've hit the mother lode. Multiply that by 10, and the list begins to approach Dio Deka's expansive roster of wines. The emphasis: varietals commonly associated with a specific region, from Tuscany's sangiovese to moschofilero from Mantinia, Greece. And while some of the world's top wineries are represented, so are boutique wineries from off the beaten path.
This is a far cry from a bland ballroom. Tucked into historic downtown Los Gatos, Dio Deka and Hotel Los Gatos host weddings, meetings, and private dinners in their several stunning spaces. The most flexible of all: the Monte Sereno room, which contains five separate salons, all of which can combined to create a large, stunning ballroom.
Fresh meat from Morris Grassfed Beef, dairy products from Claravale Farm, and produce from Farm Fresh come together for executive chef and Organicopia owner Molly Holbrook’s all-natural recipes. She and her kitchen staff compile every meal from scratch, using seasonal ingredients and calibrating meals to clients’ allergies, dietary restrictions, and preferences for foods that begin with the letter Z. The team can craft full weeks of prepared meals and deliver them to customers’ doorsteps or devise one-time menus for catered events such as dinner parties and backyard celebrations. Molly also uses her expertise to analyze the nutritional value of her clients’ diets and help them manage their weight with tailored meal plans and cooking lessons.
Since 2008, Fuze Fit For a Kid's has offered noncompetitive camps, lessons, and parties that mix and match activities such as sports conditioning, yoga, martial arts, and dance classes. There's a lot of laughter between the facility's walls, some of which are studded with stones that welcome the grip of aspiring rock climbers. But Fuze isn't just about having fun. Its physical activities are also designed to help bolster motor skills, improve overall strength, and increase self-esteem. And, for extra fitness, a team of PCA-certified coaches builds on these sports activities with traditional strength-building plyometric and resistance activities.
Don’t stroll into Y&L Style Bar expecting a haircut or color treatment. Though comprised of expert stylists, the salon's team sticks to washes followed by blowouts and elegant up-dos. This means, that once every strand has been swept into place, customers will have enough time to enjoy manicures and pedicures, administered by nail techs or to sit as one of the bar's aestheticians beautifies their skin with mineral-based cosmetics by Jane Iredale.
But the fun here isn't reserved for adults only: birthday party packages invite girls as young as four to enjoy age-appropriate makeup, manicures, and other pint-size pampering, while Y&L's entire crew shares their skills with teen girls at annual summer camps.
