  • American Guitar Academy
Each of the guitar coaches at American Guitar Academy are certified in the school's signature teaching method. Developed over 25 years, this house-honed instruction technique incorporates scientific research to help fingers learn to shred frets up to eight times faster than alternative methods. During private half-hour lessons, instructors guide budding rock stars aged 4 years and up through the basics of strumming chords and seamlessly stitching together riffs. These comprehensive lessons on classical, electric, or acoustic guitars are offered once a week with a live instructor or online and guarantee that students will be playing their favorite music within six months of training. Students may begin lessons without owning a guitar, but are encouraged to gain access to one quickly for mastering scales and the ability to solo with their teeth.

  • Rokk Skoool
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition? The Garage Rock Academy has been transforming absolute beginners in performing rock musicians since 2010. Beginning to advanced classes for guitar, bass, drums, keys and vocals. Already play an instrument or sing? Join one of our Garage Bands. Weekly rehearsals and one guaranteed gig per month! Do you provide any materials? What should your students expect to bring? Guitar and bass students will need to bring their instruments only to class, not their amps. Drum students will only need their sticks. Vocal and keyboard students will not need to bring anything extra to class. What was the inspiration to start or run this business? The concept was inspired by my experience as the worship music director for jr high and high school services from 2006-2009. I was given students with only some ability on their instruments or as vocalists and told to turn them into a band. I was very good at it and the idea soon became my living :) What do you love most about your job? The experience of working with kids being able to impart to them a skill that will serve them for the rest of their lives is priceless to me. Seeing them grow from clumsy beginners into actual rock stars is unbelievably rewarding :)

  • Musicology
Musicology’s cheerful blue space echoes with the energetic knocking-together of musical instruments as diminutive composers enhance their neural functions through the exploration of music. Working with New Directions Institute for Infant Brain Development, Musicology aims to help children from newborns to 3-year-olds develop their brains in age-specific classes. By introducing them to complex rhythms, harmonies, and the ability of song to get woodland creatures to clean things, the instructors work to activate connections in the brain that can improve learning abilities. Parents remain alongside children throughout the sessions, potentially picking up some music theory of their own.
