  • The Wine Bar
Wine Bar is a restaurant made for sharing. Everything on the menu—from the braised meat of the beef bourguignon to the goat-cheese chocolate truffles drizzled in chocolate syrup—arrives on plates designed to be passed between friends and family. Of course, the bottles of Canadian wines that line the restaurant's walls also lend themselves to being passed around, particularly the exclusive vintages secured by Wine Bar's sommelier. In that same spirit of sharing, Wine Bar doesn't hide much from the public eye, except the lever that keeps the restaurant's gravity on. Jars of organic, seasonal, and sustainable ingredients function as a Technicolor decorative display whenever the chefs aren't incorporating them into dishes. A wooden counter surrounds the open kitchen, letting diners watch every step of their maple squash risotto's creation, while a similar setup wraps around the wine bar.

  • Wine Garden
Wineries are often found far down country roads, shrouded by the curling tendrils of their vineyards. At The Wine Garden, though, the entire winemaking experience can be had without setting foot outside of the city. Yeast bubbles busily in stainless-steel fermentation vessels, transforming the juices of grapes from fertile regions of Chile, Argentina, and California. The fermentation process yields wines that range from crisp chardonnay to heady cabernet franc, the progenitor of cabernet sauvignon, and oak barrels bestow some of the elixirs with a rich maze of tannins. Fruit wines made with peaches, cranberries, or strawberries make refreshing summertime drinks and help work friends mingle with hummingbird friends at parties. Patrons play a major role in the entire process, selecting grapes and siphoning finished wine into bottles. The Wine Garden's gourmets also brew craft beers and stock hot sauces with humourous names such as Blair's Chipotle Death Rain.

  • Colio Estate Winery
Colio Estate Winery opened their doors in 1980, the first winery to open in the region since prohibition. Their vineyards lie on the same latitude as famed wine regions in northern California and Tuscany, Italy and like these regions they experience a similar climate. The area also boasts lush, fertile soil and a growing season longer than most of Canada, making it a favorable place to ripen grapes. Today, Colio Estate Winery produces more than 400,000 cases of wine per year, including big red wines and refreshing whites. Knowing collaboration is key in the winemaking process, winemaker Lawrence Buhler and vineyard manager Kevin Donohue work in tandem to produce high quality wines in varietals such as Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Guests at the winery can go on a guided tour and learn about the winemaking process, wander through the vineyard, or lounge in the Carlo Negri pavilion and enjoy a glass of wine next to the vineyard.

  • Filmi Dhaba
Filmi Dhaba's name draws from two touchstones of modern Indian culture: filmi⎯referring to the flashy musical number and A-list stars of Indian cinema, and dhaba⎯the term for a small local eateries that dot the highways of the subcontinent. The restaurant bursts at the seams both with the complex scents of Indian spices and the flashiness of Bollywood. To contribute to the latter, there’s a cavalcade of visiting Indian celebrities, posing for publicity photos as they sip single-malt scotch. The bill of fare fuses diverse traditions from across India, as well as modern and traditional influences, with jalapeño onion rings and cheeseburger samosas sharing table space with Kashmiri lamb rogan josh and wok-fried hakka noodles. In the kitchen, cooks strain creamy homemade cheese for paneer and simmer spicy South Indian chicken curries. All that food is bound for the earthy-toned main dining area or the low-lit Bombay Club. In that buzzing lounge, glasses of tropical cocktails click gently together like sleepy bumper cars amid black leather couches.
