Every single day, the dedicated coaches at CrossFit RTB craft a new workout packed with Olympic-style weightlifting, gymnastics, and plyometric exercises. The result is a Workout Of the Day, which prevents students' metabolisms from plateauing by incorporating a variety of functional movements that replicate common activities, such as climbing a rope, jumping onto a box, and ducking behind a streetlight to avoid chitchatting with a coworker.
And while lifting weights is a major part of the CrossFit routine, it isn’t a necessary one. The coaches have even created CrossFit Unloaded classes that omit lifting exercises all together, and there are dedicated rowing and yoga classes to supplement these workout regimens further. Besides all the class variety, CrossFit RTB also tries to make it easy to go to the gym by offering complimentary child care during select classes.
The instructors at CrossFit - Springfield know their workouts take a little getting used to. Students rarely walk in with perfect form on the clean and jerk or the endurance to repeatedly launch medicine balls into the air. With this in mind, instructors lead free introductory classes twice a week to familiarize new guests with CrossFit. During high-intensity workouts throughout the week, the gym fills with the snap of jump ropes, the clatter of free weights, and the idling of airliners waiting to be pulled somewhere. Classes blend plyometrics and exercises on parallel bars with Olympic lifts, including the power clean and the deadlift. Workouts are scaled to meet the fitness level of each participant and are led by a dynamic collection of instructors, including ER nurses, college-football stars, Marines, and competitive kickboxers.
Strong Gym is, unsurprisingly, all about no-nonsense strength. The staff’s experienced and educated trainers and coaches focus on strength training as the primary basis of all workouts. This training combines both basic barbell- and body-weight training to provide simple but highly effective workouts. Along with personal training and group boot-camp classes, members can also train individually at the 13,000-square-foot facility, using top-of-the-line strength, cardio, and telekinesis equipment. Members also gain access to massage services and free childcare.
CrossFit Provision's team of CrossFit Level 1-certified coaches welcomes newcomers to their sprawling fitness facility with open, chiseled arms. In fact, three of the coaches dedicate all their time to introductory classes that teach exercisers how to speak the native CrossFit language as well as how to safely perform typical CrossFit exercises such as squats and pull-ups. Once up to speed, exercisers can sign up for the real thing: one of CrossFit's intense daily workouts.
