In the Old World, castles were places to live, govern, and seek shelter. Today, there are still places designed to keep the outside world at bay, but rather than standing as bastions of military defense, they serve as oases of relaxation, fitness, and fun. Riviera Country Club and Sports Center is one such getaway. There, members can explore a vast campus of athletic and recreation amenities including indoor and outdoor pools, a full gym, and a spa. Though the club’s organizers leave plenty of time for individuals to play in each space, they also host organized events, including regular group fitness classes such as boot camp, kickboxing, and Latin dance. They maintain a vast array of sports courts, as well, allowing members to feed their competitive sides in basketball, tennis, and racquetball arenas. As adults young and old sweat during their chosen forms of play, staffers help tykes explore their creativity in a play space known as the Sandbox, which combines education, arts and crafts, and computers to produce a secret army of glitter robots.

The certified instructors at Heatwave Bootcamps lead effective group bootcamp and dance session workouts that tone the body and liberate the mind. The facility offers bootcamp and dance sessions, spread across all seven days of the week.
Heatwave's variety of boot camps target a wide range of body parts: for instance, kettlebell classes provide a surprising cardio workout that also builds muscles with long swings of the weights. The TRX suspension system is behind the toning powers of other sessions, forcing arms and legs to work against the body's own weight. Body resistance is important in yoga fitness as well, though the motions are relatively low impact and also build flexibility. The Latin rhythms of Zumba or the pop and hip-hop beats of Dance Heat classes take dancers' attentions away from the toils of exercise, turning heart-pumping aerobic routines into raucous dance parties.

title: Simply Yoga
html_text: Recently opened, Simply Yoga has already become a welcoming space for yoga students of all experiences and backgrounds. First-time students learn Vinyasa's foundational postures during hour-long basics classes, while more experienced practitioners move to deeper expressions in all-levels or advanced power classes. Regardless of the challenge level, students move through poses in rooms heated to 80–85 degrees. So, while it doesn't quite have the tropical feeling of hot yoga, the studio is plenty warm to get the heart pumping, blood flowing, and sweat dripping onto the mat.
