Warm, earthy tones enhance the welcoming atmosphere at Allure Grand Salon, where hairstylists, nail techs, and a massage therapist pamper a diverse clientele. The team of eight stylists offers a wide range of services, including precision and razor cuts, vibrant highlights and multidimensional color, and sew-in weaves. For clients looking to change the texture of their hair, stylists provide smoothing keratin treatments and relaxers, as well as curl-creating perms. The team also offers twist outs, roller sets, and hot-oil treatments for natural hair. Allure's duo of nail techs treat hands and feet with mani-pedis, acrylic nails, and gel manicures complete with nail art. To round out the pampering, the salon's massage therapist calms clients with soothing aromatherapy scents and deep-tissue pressure.
Original Flair Salon—recipient of the 2011 Best of Reynoldsburg Award from the U.S. Commerce Association—beautifies clients with a diverse menu of hair, skin, nail, and body services. The salon's Egyptian décor, soft candlelight, and trickling waterfalls add a soothing touch to each service.
In the Gentleman’s Room, barbers with more than 26 years of combined experience groom men with cuts, fades, beard trims, and razor shaves. And throughout the day, trained aestheticians revitalize exteriors with skin services such as aromatherapy facials, which nourish and moisturize with fragrant blends of essential oils, herbs, and fruit that's fallen close to the tree, rather than far from the ground.
In the late 1920s, the Great Depression was rendering most Americans professionally and financially paralyzed. But in a small California kitchen, Merle Norman was putting a plan in motion to formulate her own skincare products and share them with family and friends. She truly believed in her formulas, knowing that by getting them on as many faces as possible, she would develop a following of customers. She was right—within a few years she and her nephew were opening their first studio in Santa Monica, and they eventually unveiled a series of independently operated stores that enabled women to take ownership during a time of gender-based limitations such as men-only restrooms.
Today, in approximately 2,000 stores across three countries, the three basic principles of Merle's original vision still apply. Each studio is independently owned and fosters an in-depth knowledge of the company's own line of makeup and skincare products. Just as Merle shared her creations with close friends and sallow mannequins more than 80 years ago, today's aestheticians embody the business's "try before you buy" philosophy. A menu of complimentary studio services—from foundation checks to express facials—allows patrons to sample the lauded brand before committing to the purchase of products or full spa treatments.

What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Well diversed salon that still has a passion for hair and has the product knowledge to educate every client
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
There is a lack of passion for healthy hair, and a greater love for the dollar behind it. Wanted
to give professional quality hair care at a reasonable cost to the client with a personal feel.
What do you love most about your job?
What I love most about my job is meeting new people and making a change in someone else's life. I love giving the product knowledge and enriching my clients with the knowledge to continue healthy hair growth.
What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?
The best reaction that I have ever received from a customer was when a customer had been through an abusive relationship and felt like she was nothing. At the end of her salon experience she walked out with a smile and her head up.
