As a child, Dr. Moufida Khalife was the only kid in her class who brought a toothbrush to school. "I was fascinated by the smile," she says, "I brushed my teeth like crazy!" Naturally, Dr. Khalife was drawn to the world of dentistry as she grew up, and she opened Select Dental Group in 2008.
The staff members at Select Dental Group aim to quash any anxieties patients may have about dentistry at the door. The office's warm, red-toned decor evokes the atmosphere of a lush hotel rather than a medical office, and the reception room welcomes patients to help themselves to hot tea, coffee, or healthy snacks such as fruit and toothpaste. Within the treatment rooms, clients can zone out while watching satellite television or listening to music or they can submit their digits to a softening paraffin dip. The all-digital office allows technicians to review x-ray results on in-room screens, and then quickly return to whittling away plaque and tartar with an electric hand piece.
While Dr. Khalife's first love is cosmetic dental enhancements such as porcelain veneers, whitening, and implants, she and her team also overhaul teeth with restorative procedures that range from simple cleanings to the treatment of periodontal disease.
