As the head of Carrollton Animal Hospital, Dr. Michael W. McGuire has come full circle since the high school days he spent volunteering at a veterinary clinic. His lifelong passion for animals makes him an ideal custodian of the clinic, which has served the community for a staggering 40 years. Despite its long history, the clinic boasts fully modern facilities including surgical suites, onsite blood analyzers, and a fully stocked pharmacy. Dr. McGuire uses his more than 15 years to oversee the tightly knit team of veterinary assistants and animal lovers who help him attend to dogs, cats, rabbits, and small exotic pets. The clinic offers routine animal care including checkups and dentistry, as well as surgery and preventative care—including vaccinations to protect against parasites, rabies, and ticks disguised as squeaky toys. To keep owners and pets together, the staff also performs microchipping services that can help locate pets should they go missing.
