About Emerald Yoga Studio
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Our students come to us at all stages of their practice—from those who have never been on a mat to those who have been practicing for years. And although all of our instructors are experienced with working with brand new students, we also have offerings specifically tailored to new students. Wonderful classes that open your body and your life to this amazing practice, with no intimidation. Our students come to increase their strength and flexibility, get a great workout, increase their energy and to feel calm, centered and grounded!
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
When the opportunity came up to take over the ownership of Emerald Yoga Studio, I knew that this was the reason that every other door had shut on my path. I realized that every time I felt like I had failed at a job it was actually because I was being redirected in the direction that I needed to head into. I chose the wrong road a few times and yet the universe kept piping in to get me out of a job I wasn't supposed to be in--and to make sure I was available for this opportunity once it came to fruition. I never in a million years thought I would be living out the dream of owning this incredible, loving, STRONG, studio, but here I am.
What do you love most about your job?
What I love most about my job is the community and being able to be of service to them in whatever capacity that is. I love having a new person come into our studio and watching them become a familiar face. I love watching the student who is nervous to even enter a yoga studio, slowly warm up during their practice, and eventually they are the loudest voice at the beginning of class. I feel honored to be the tour guide up at the top of the class, helping students to find their own paths, and helping others to create theirs.
What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?
The best reaction I've ever had is when students have come in and you can tell they are having a bad day. They resist coming and practicing but they do it because they know it will make them feel better. By the end of class they are back to normal and ready to take on whatever the day throws at them!
