Massage Bliss & Day Spa, Jacksonville

The overall ambience of the facility and the massage itself was fine. I only had two specific issues with my experience. Apparently they relocated a few weeks prior to my appointment. Unfortunately, the updated address was incorrect on the website as well as through Groupon. So I spent 20 minutes driving around trying to find the location. There is no one to answer the phone, so you must leave a voice message. By the time I received a call back to get the correct address info and reached the facility, 30 min had past. I purchased a 90 min massage and was not offered a reschedule or the option of an extension. My only other issue was the room temperature. Most therapist are pretty adamant about checking with the client to see if the room or massage bed temp ( if applicable) is too hot or cold. In this case it was a bit chilly because of a small fan blowing. I was not asked if it was a problem. The therapist was not rude in any way, it was just a lack of attention to a few details that could make or break a massage experience.

The actual spa is nice in appearance, but seriously lacking in terms of employees. I got the laser facial and massage... The facial machine kept cutting off and breaking. Entire facial took 20 mins and there was no noticeable indifference whatsoever. It was a bad deal for a $55 groupon, I can imagine having paid the full price. My appointments were supposed to be back to back, but I had to wait 40 mins in between. The my massage was literally one of the worst I've had. The girl clearly had no idea of pressure points or massage techniques. There were 3 times during the massage, I had to tell her she was hurting me. She would adjust temporarily and then go right back to intense pressure. I asked for the Swedish massage btw! Lastly, my intended 60 min massage only lasted 50 mins and she talked about the kind of "bad clients she sometimes has to deal with" and how she had gotten in an arguement with a coworker earlier and wanted to "hit her in the head". Overall it was not even remotely relaxing, and not worth the money spent.
