Musicians Institute, Los Angeles

With a premier Hollywood Boulevard location at Hollywood & Highland, this modern music college offers a dreamy rock n’ roll setting for aspiring young musicians or audiophiles. Musician’s Institute offers Associate Arts and Bachelor of music degrees, where students study with top industry musicians to learn bass, guitar, keyboard, drums and vocals. Originally founded in 1977 as The Guitar Institute of Technology, today the Musician’s Institute’s programs also include audio engineering and generalized music business. Faculty here includes successful industry musicians like guitarist Akimoto Takeshi, who has toured with Ziggy Marley, and Vadim Zilbershtein, who’s performed and recorded with Earth, Wind & Fire and Lenny Kravitz. “Summer Shot” week-long programs of music performance, recording, deejaying and music producing are also offered in June and July.
