About Oceana Bistro Cafe

Oceana Bistro Cafe's floor-to-ceiling windows and outdoor patios unveil sweeping vistas of the Pacific Ocean. Located just down the street form the neighborhood eatery, the sea provides more than just idyllic scenery—it yields fresh scallops, shrimp, and crab for gastro-pub-inspired fare. Chefs tailor their cooking style to suit the time of day. At lunchtime, they layer casual, deli-style sandwiches with Boar's Head meats, leaf lettuces, and seasoned mayo. At dinner, they take a more gourmet approach, grilling fine meats (among them, filet mignon and ahi tuna) until they achieve a supple texture and jail stripes. Chefs pair the dishes with locally produced wines and craft brews.

Steak not as good as Salmon.

As much as I hate to say it, the waitresses and waiters should speak clear English. A language barrier is always a challenging element.

I was rather disappointed that so many options were unavailable. The food was ok, but even with the groupon, I feel like I overpaid, given the quality. Additionally, the dessert descriptions seemed off- I ordered the perfiderols with ice cream inside and what I got was cream puffs from Costco.

We were very happy with the service and the calamari appetizer we had was wonderful (really one of the best ones I've ever had). The entrees on the other hand were very disappointing. The NY steak I had was not up to par, was quite tough, and was drenched in a less than memorable vinegar type sauce. My friends fish plate was also just "okay" and he wasn't very happy with it. I would go back for appetizers but definitely wouldn't have another meat entree here.
