About 5K Color Run with Color Mania

Scheduled in cities across the country, the Color Mania 5K Run offers runners of all ages the chance to sprint, jog, or mosey their way across a course splattered with prismatic color. As participants wind their way toward the finish line, packs of color throwers target them with a barrage of biodegradable, cornstarch-based dyes, turning their once-white attire into a kaleidoscopic fashion statement. The race organizers don't keep track of time; the point is not to win the race but to enjoy oneself. Each participant will receive a Color Mania T-shirt, race bib, and gifts from race sponsors. Participants aged 7 and younger can run for free with a guardian-signed waiver, but will not receive a T-shirt, bib, or gifts.

The race was completely misrepresented and would not do this particular race again. Very disappointed.

Picking-up the race packet was difficult as there was only a limited time and place to get it. The 5K race run by (mostly) switching back and forth through a parking lot. Had to pay a lot of money to park in the same parking lot that the race was run through (this was NOT disclosed at any time). No other parking was evident. The prior description of non-race activities were inflated. My daughter cut her leg on the free children's activities ( one small, run-down children's inflatable slide ). The whole event was poorly organized with lots of waiting around. Overall, I felt ripped-off even having used the Groupon.

I absolutely love 5k races but I felt like the website did not give any warning as to the difficulty of this path. Considering this was supposed to just be a fun run without timing yourself or anything, the hills were constant and it would have been nice to know that information up front. I'm not against having a more challenging trail at all but I do believe that's something that should be made known to contestants before they arrive. I heard a lot of people said it was the hardest 5k they have ever run and really not that enjoyable and unfortunately, I felt that way too because I wasn't prepared for such a challenging course.

Im upset that they changed locations at the last minute!!! I had to pay for parking!!!! Most of all 9:00am was the worst time to start since in houston it is too hot!!
