$15 Groupon bought but restaurant only applied $13.85 credit to order, which is a ripoff to the consumer. It is not valid to presume the difference is tax, because the whole $15 value of the Groupon is not taxable. The state of Texas only taxes on actual cost to the consumer, not on the business' perceived value of the food.
