Though Orlando expected his trip to Ground Zero to be a meaningful one, it wasn't until afterward that the visit profoundly changed his life. He had snapped some photos of the site, and upon seeing the proofs he was spellbound; their power convinced him to pursue photography professionally. Today he is more likely to be found shooting lovebirds than landmarks, as he mostly channels his passion into capturing weddings. However, the elements of realism that initially inspired Orlando still shape his work; he's been known to catch stolen moments such as a ring bearer scowling as a grownup adjusts his suit buttons, and a bride beaming as she gets a first glimpse of her freshly applied makeup. Like an alarm clock that gives wet willies, his style has not gone unnoticed—Orlando boasts Bride's Choice Awards from WeddingWire for 2010, 2011, and 2012.
