About PALM SPRINGS FOOD TRUCK FESTIVAL

More than 50 food trucks will roll in from all over Southern California this year for the Palm Springs Food Truck Festival, a culinary event organized by Cliff Young of PBS' Out to Eat. Participants range from Oooh La La Crepes to Biker Jim's Gourmet Dogs, a truck specializing in encased meats such as cilantro-infused duck sausages or Zonker Stout Habanero Cherry Buffalo brats. Festival-goers can also snack on free samples, sip brews in a beer garden, or digest to the beat of live music.

The food selections were great but we could not stay as long as we would have liked as it was very hot and there was minimal cover and seats to get out of sun or eat out of sun. And standing in long lines in the extreme heat made it very challenging. To be serving all food and no place to sit and eat comfortably seemed counter productive if you want people to stay and eat and enjoy themselves. I tried to get VIP tickets but they were sold out quickly.

Some of the vendors run out of food, so I guess better planning is necessary.

each vendor should have tables for the customers to eat at. Try having it at night.

for my 1st food truck festival, I was disappointed. They advertised over 50+ trucks but only half were in attendance. I had my sight set on tasting quite a few food trucks that, of course, were the ones that were a no-show. The lines were sooo long and no order when it came time to picking-up our food when it was ready. My order got passed up....it was just chaos!
