I purchased a Groupon over the summer. I had just had my yard completely re-landscaped. So, my husband and I decided we were finally going to purchase all new furniture. I had bought Tropitone furniture.....one table, 4 swivel rockers, two loungers and a side table about 15 years ago, also from Leader's. But when we moved into our new home, I sold it all. I no longer wanted white and decided we needed something more traditional. But we wanted to wait until the landscaping was complete. The plan was 4-6 adirondac chairs to put around the gas fire pit, a table and 5-6 chairs to put on the new flagstone pavers, and two high end loungers to place beside the pool. All of which if I had to guess, I would say would have ran us somewhere between $4000 - $5000. First off, let me just say, Wendy, my sales person, was wonderful. Great personality, great knowledge and terrific salesperson without being too pushy. But in all honesty, I have a Firplace and Veranda right down the street from my home. And I love there stuff, as well. But when I saw the Groupon, and new I was in store for new outdoor furniture, I decided the decision had been made. The Groupon stated on the printout, Never Expires. That to me meant Never Expires. However, it actually stated that the $165 that I purchased for the groupon never expires. The statement was very misleading.....esp since the NEVER EXPIRES was in all caps.I thought that the $165 shown in parenthesis was just showing what I had purchased it for. And once she explained that it was expired, I had thought that since I was a returning customer, and since I was planning to make such a large purchase, that they would have honored the Groupon and allowed me to get the original $400 value. I even asked the customer service personal, Stephanie, when I called what would be better and make better business sense for them..... to honor it and for me to make a purchase of probably at least $5000 or for me to only use the $165. She understood. But said she could not honor it. Anyway, I made a purchase of around $1200. I purchased the adirondac chairs.....only because I had priced them out and wanted to go with the vendor that your store uses. But I did not purchase the loungers, side table and dinner table and chairs I had intended to also purchase. The truth is I have often heard negatives comments about Leader's over the years from both friends and family members. But this time I had my own first hand experience. And it is extremely doubtful that I will ever do business there in the future. And I do know a lot of people. I will definitely share my experience!
