The Threading Studio's owner, Sunita Singh, described her ancient hair-removal method to the Star-Telegram as something that requires an artist's keen interest and eye for design, adding "I'm very picky." Singh learned threading in her hometown of Bangalore, India, and has honed her dexterity for more than five years. With a single cotton thread, expert brow sculptors whisk out entire rows, shaping elegant, smooth arches and working on a grid pattern to nab unwanted follicles from delicate facial skin. NBC 5 reported that Singh can complete an eyebrow session in less than two minutes, and that the process is suitable for individuals who use retinoid creams for acne or aging.
