At 21 years old, an age when many young adults are still in school or starting out their careers, Alesha Findlay opened Tahiti Tan. As a member of the International Smart Tan Network, Findlay stocks her salon with high-powered tanning beds and booths—even her entry-level beds are considered "megabeds"—in order to get the same tanning results as traditional beds, but with less ultraviolet exposure. For UV-free tans, Findlay turns to her California Tan AutoBronzer, 1 of only 10 available in Canada. The voice-activated open-air AutoBronzer mists clients with a choice of three shades that last for up to seven days without maintenance, finally proving to the sun that you've moved on. Before sessions, clients may peruse the salon's glass cases stocked with indoor-tanning lotions or watch the flat-screen television.
