$59 for a Home-Brewing Package (Up to $122.65 Value)

The Above the Rest home-brewing kit (a $72.65 value) includes the following: One 6-gallon bucket with lid, Carboy 5-gallon Pet Bottle, two rubber stoppers, air lock, tubing, plastic siphon cane, 15-inch-long bottle filler, 4 ounces Star Sanitizer, Emily wing capper, and step-by-step instructional sheet.

A complimentary class familiarizes newcomers with the equipment, ingredients, sanitizing, and the process of brewing. Customers may then choose from a host of ingredients (up to a $50 value) to craft one of eight beer styles, including an american wheat ale, an irish red, an IPA, and a porter.

Above the Rest Home Brewing

From humble beginnings as a small but passionate basement brewing operation, Above the Rest Home Brewing has now outgrown three spaces since 1993. Now residing in a 1,500 square-foot commercial store with an adjoining classroom, Above the Rest’s staff guides both rookies and seasoned pros through the steps of not only wine- and beer-brewing, but also soda- and cheese-making as well. Staffers can also guide visitors though the selection of equipment, malts, hops, and yeast, helping them pick out the right combination of ingredients to craft an IPA, porter, or a replica of the beer Santa Claus drinks before fact checking his Naughty/Nice list.
