- $69 for one admission to a three-hour sailing tour and wine tasting (a $138 value)
During the tour, captains take groups of up to six passengers on a three-hour sailing journey across the San Francisco Bay. The vessel sails by Angel Island, Alcatraz, and along the waterfront toward the Golden Gate Bridge. After this scenic voyage, groups lead by the captain walk approximately 100 feet to The Winery SF on Treasure Island to sample various potables from the award-winning winery; hard liquor and red wine cannot be consumed onboard the catamaran. Cruises depart at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday–Sunday.
- $195 for a two-day introduction to sailing class (a $390 value)
The two-day introductory course teaches the basics of keelboat sailing over a total of 14 hours. Classes of four or fewer learn the mechanics of sailing and get hands-on practice guiding the vessel through the light and moderate winds of the Oakland Estuary. Instructors also cover US Coast Guard requirements and American Sailing Association recommendations.
Afterguard Sailing Academy
A morning photo cruise powered by gentle sunlight and mellow breezes. A spirited afternoon jaunt toward the Golden Gate Bridge. A late-spring sunset trip over waters reflecting the city's skyline and the warm hues of the horizon. No matter the time of day, the waving sails of Afterguard Sailing Academy's vessels ferry passengers on adventures around the sun-kissed waters and iconic landmarks of San Francisco Bay.
Thanks to the academy's team of seasoned captains, tours are only one way to experience sailing's thrills. Their instructors also teach comprehensive American Sailing Association certification courses, which aim to transition ordinary passengers to crew members and skippers for more independent sailing adventures of all types. As students progress, instructors teach more advanced lessons, such as bay basics and ocean sailing. Aside from these lessons, the captains also run a nonprofit sailing academy for youth.
