Runners clad in formalwear race past prom-themed decorations and glow-in-the-dark props before ending the race with a dance party

Running was popular in Europe long before it caught on in America, which is why most races are measured in kilometers and why most of the Pilgrims were eaten by bears. Race to the top of the food chain with this Groupon.

    Bad Prom

From the power ballads to the formalwear to the sweating and shortness of breath, the Bad Prom 5K re-creates the prom experience in cities across the United States. Clad in an old prom or bridesmaid's dress, a thrift-store suit, or one of the Bad Prom T-shirts given to each participant before the race, runners dash through courses decorated with dazzling lights and neon accents while favorite old-school jams pump through the sound system.

At approximately each kilometer mark, runners stop for photo ops at four pit stops decorated in such classic prom themes as "Titanic," "Under the Sea," "Fairytale," and "Paris." Unlike some races that rank runners by time, Bad Prom only measures success in laughter and the lack of people silently weeping in the corner. After they sashay across the finish line, participants can wind back the clock and boogie to nostalgic prom songs and current hits at the post-race dance party.
