Of all the lies you've told, "I own my own winery" ranks up there with "My girlfriend in Canada invented the idea of emoticons." Today’s grapey Groupon preserves the lie with a personalized pour. For $55, you’ll get $110 toward wine at Casavino Custom Winery, a father-and-son-owned winery that specializes in custom bottles and high-quality varietals. With this Groupon, you can create your own batch, customize labels on pre-made bottles, or apply your value toward a wine tasting.
In order to DIYine, you'll start by scheduling a tasting, where you'll sample up to 40 different varietals to determine your favorite flavor. Next, you'll work directly with Casavino's expert wine-makers on primary fermentation. After your wine is deemed quality and ready for bottling, you'll work with the winery's graphic artist to create a custom label before bottling, corking, and labeling it. Custom wine batches start at $250, but you can always opt to just stick a custom label over a pre-made wine; choose from red ($23), white ($19), fruity and blush ($13), or dessert ($18). You may also use your Groupon toward a wine tasting.
Aside from being a thoughtful gift for special occasions, birthdays, or weddings, Casavino's custom wines are also a perfect outlet for self-expression, self-promotion, and people who waste hours debating which label in the wine store is the prettiest.

- I highly recommend this unique experience for yourselves, or as a gift to a wine lover in your life. The wines are very drinkable, and are similar to comparably priced wines available from local retailers. – About.com

The History of Alcohol
Recent evidence suggests that humans produced alcohol as early as 10,000 BC, and many ancient cultures have produced signature alcoholic beverages. Here’s a guide to ancient drinking:
China, 5,000 BC: Alcohol was used in China to celebrate a variety of important events like births, conference championships, and the invention of gunpowder.
Egypt, 4,000 BC: Ancient Egyptians believed beer was the invention of Osiris, the god of slurring.
Northern Europe, 550 BC: Vikings drank mead, a honey alcohol made by crying bees. Vikings would frequently hurt those closest to them to produce the saddest bees.
Macedonia, 330 BC: Alexander the Great was known for his drunkenness, though he preferred to be known as "The Inventor Of Smiling."
