Don-A-Matrix Training

Certified trainer Don “DB” Brooks knows that it takes a lot of muscle mass to defeat shape-shifting robots. As the personal trainer on the Transformers set he had to build hero-worthy musculature for celebrities such as Josh Duhamel. Nowadays, DB works with Duhamel's wife, Fergie, as the Black Eyed Peas' trainer, transforming her and her bandmates' physiques with his signature Matrix workout.

When he isn't touring with the band, however, he shares the same regimen—featured in Glamour, Shape, and People —with civilians at his studio, Don-A-Matrix Training. Each workout slims figures and builds endurance with 50-minute bursts of cardio, resistance work, and sports-specific drills, such as basketball's speed basket weaving. DB drew on his eclectic array of certifications in disciplines from Pilates to muscle conditioning to design the results-oriented program.
