There was a 30 minute wait to get into the 10:00pm comedy show. Don't know why but the show did not start till 10:30p. I would think they would want people to have a drink and order some food instead of standing in a long outdoor hallway.
  • Extensive beer list
  • Authentic Irish eats
  • Fun, lively atmosphere
  • St. Patrick’s event tonight

Snakes used to slither into local pubs and fill their unhingable jaws with the food and drink of 10 men, which is why St. Patrick forced them to enter hot-dog-eating competitions. Bask in a snake-free social setting with today’s deal: for $10, you get $25 worth of Irish sips and pub grub at Stout Irish Sports Pub in the heart of Buckhead. The sports bar's fun-loving atmosphere garnered Citysearch props including runner-up for Best Atlanta Irish Pub 2009, second for Best Atlanta Jukebox 2009, and fourth for Best Atlanta Sports Bar 2009.

If you’re looking for a place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, you can use your Groupon toward tonight’s event, which includes corned beef and cabbage, shot specials, and live music. Those celebrating in a more traditional manner (watching Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood) aren’t left out, as every night at this pub promises a lively Irish atmosphere. Served alongside the good times are a variety of authentic eats such as a classic reuben ($10.50), stout burger ($7), and beer-battered fish and chips ($12), among others.

With no shortage of beer selections, Stout is the ideal location to experience a night of laid-back fun and a most excellent place to weather Armageddon. The bar features more than 50 brewed cheers-ables and chug-ables, from classic Irish libations such as Beamish and Guinness to groove-restoring Stella and American staples like Budweiser. There are multiple flat-screens throughout showing live American football, international football, and universal foosball matches. Take a break from watching the game to start your own on one of the multiple pool tables. Or step outside the friendly interior for a breath of fresh air on the oxygen-rich patio.

Reviews

Stout Irish Sports Pub placed second for Best Atlanta Irish Pub 2009, second for Best Atlanta Jukebox 2009, and fourth for Best Atlanta Sports Bar 2009 on Citysearch. The Atlanta-Journal Constitution says:

  • Stout Irish Sports Pub feels like a throwback to another era, with a no-nonsense atmosphere, strong drink and simple food that cater to an over-21 crowd...there's a welcoming patio, with flowering vines and wrought iron tables and chairs. The dimly lit main bar area features rustic cobblestone floors, wood paneling, exposed brick and painted scenes of Irish life. But the quaint/cute factor is mercifully limited...Portions are hefty and offer a lot of bang for the buck. – Bob Townsend

Citysearchers and Yelpers give Stout Irish Sports Pub 3.5 stars, and 83% of Urbanspooners like it:

  • …the beer list is better than average--Beamish and Boddington's please the connoisseurs while those with a less sophisticated pallet can throw back Buds without embarrassment. Classed-up middle-agers mingle among floppy-haired frat guys and the choices on the jukebox reflect the crowd's variety...usual pub grub is spruced up with beer battered fish and chips, wings marinated in Irish whiskey, and standard bangers and mash. If the dartboards are busy traipse downstairs to the game room to find treasure trove of three pool tables, arcade games and the addictive Golden Tee. – Christina Saul, Citysearch
  • ....the bartenders are friendly and the drinks are cheap and strong. They even have beer-pong! My new bar of choice! – WilliamsErin70, Citysearch

About East Andrews District

A night on the town can take many directions: dinner can lead to a comedy show, dancing can transition to quiet drinks in a shadowy booth, a raucous concert can segue into a slice of pizza. Hitting all those spots in one night, however, can require a small fortune in cab fare. Not at the Andrews Entertainment District. Like a toddler trying to draw their city, this 30,000-square-foot nightlife oasis puts eight restaurants, bars, and clubs under one roof.

Patrons sample sushi and infused Russian vodkas atop the frozen counter of Czar Ice Bar or dig into eclectic small plates from around the world at Cellar 56. Prohibition, meanwhile, serves classic cocktails in an environment reminiscent of a 1920s speakeasy, complete with plush leather furniture. Nearby, Atlanta's branch of the Improv Comedy Club hosts jokesters on nationwide tours while Andrew's Upstairs fuels floor-thumping dance parties late into the night.
