Seeing live music can be a transcendent mind-body experience, akin to getting a tattoo underwater or making out during an eclipse. Transcend boredom with today's Groupon: for $16, you get one general-admission ticket to see Ellie Goulding at Electric Factory on Tuesday, July 26, at 8 p.m. (up to a $32.95 value). Maximum value is based on advance tickets purchased through Ticketmaster; when purchased at the venue, tickets range from $25 to $28.

For more than 40 years, Electric Factory has been one of Philly’s go-to spots for an eclectic array of live music. The venue's brightly lit stage and intimate atmosphere create a festive avenue for hip swiveling and ear tapping to the infectious pop of Brit-award-winning Ellie Goulding. Her debut record, Lights, lays refreshingly earnest lyrics atop a rich fusion of acoustic strums and soul-churning electronica to craft an original sound devoid of easy labels and ideal for underscoring pensive late-night drives through outdoor raves. Dance floors burst to vibrancy beneath the enticing beats of opening act Bag Raiders, inciting a fevered anticipation for Goulding's myriad hits, which include "Starry Eyed," "The Writer," and "Guns and Horses."
