  • $15 for a wine- or culinary-education workshop for one (up to a $45 value)
  • $25 for a wine- or culinary-education workshop for two (up to a $90 value)

Wine classes host guest sommeliers who expound on a particular wine region such as France's Loire Valley or Provence, or how to discern flavors in local varietals. Students can also take part in beer and spirits classes such as the Scotch Series, a themed discourse on production regions from the Lowlands to Speyside, or learn about bourbon-based cocktails in a bourbon-centric class. In culinary classes, on the other hand, students learn skills such as how to make fresh mozzarella, cook a romantic dinner for two, or craft apple-based dishes paired with autumn beers and wines. Each class can host up to 35 students, and students can also keep up with future events

Gordon's Fine Wines & Liquors

On any given night at Gordon's Fine Wines & Liquors, guests might hear staff instructors share their favorite French wines or introduce a Speyside scotch. They might also see guest sommeliers, local brewers, or winemakers discuss the production regions and flavors of their most cherished varietals. For more than 75 years, Gordon’s has been a beacon for such talented flavor enthusiasts, recruiting a team of specialized instructors that has earned the alcohol emporium the title of Massachusetts Beverage Business 2012 Retailer of the Year. These professionals have never tired of spinning out lessons—touching on wine education, beer and spirits, cooking, and wine-and-food pairings, which immerses visitors in how to successfully marry cheeses and wines without their parents getting all bent out of shape.

Yet apart from the knowledge spread therein and the discussions bubbling with poignant enthusiasm behind the shelves, Gordon’s also serves as a supplier. Its shelves abound with hundreds of wines—including kosher wines—from every continent except Antarctica, more than 500 types of craft beer, and 300 single-malt scotches.

The Groupon Guide to: Overdoing Halloween Decorations

The scariest house in any neighborhood is the one that’s clearly overdoing it on the Halloween decorations. If you have any of these decorations in your yard, that terrifying house might be your own:

  • Fake tombstones with the names of different local pets
  • An alive homeowner pretending to be a half-buried scarecrow so he can grab your ankle without asking
  • Incredibly realistic murder scene that the neighborhood single guy spent way too much time on
  • Frankenstein with two extra arms stitched on to accommodate six live chainsaws
  • Sixteen-foot-banner reading “There’s a 50% Chance Your Parents Will Get Divorced"
  • A bunch of angry dogs
  • A realty sign that says “For Sale … BY A GHOST!”
  • Christmas decorations already? Ugh—this country is SPOOKILY consumerist.

How can you tell when you’re overdoing it on the Halloween decorations?
