Alan Finger shapes the daily practice at ISHTA Yoga—not only as the owner of its studios, but also as the cofounder of the ISHTA philosophy in the late 1960's. ISHTA is based on a marriage of spiritual yogic principles and modern science, and teaches students a practice that focuses on meticulous alignment, poses that flow from one to the next, and meditation. The studio’s faculty of 30 instructors leads a schedule of multiple classes for students of all skill levels. Students can rent a mat for $2 and enter the studios, where ornately carved wooden doors create a gorgeous tableau as they frame the gurus in the act of instruction.

The teachers and front desk staff are amazing and the studio is intimate and inviting.

The classes are always different, not the same yoga routine. All Ishta instructors are SO helpful, inspirational, knowledgeable.
