The frozen foodies at Mia Chef Gelateria sling subzero sweets crafted from more than 1,000 recipes, each true to the centuries-old methods of gelato alchemy. Taste the nondairy richness of almond-milk gelato, a vegan and kosher source of antioxidants, vitamins A and E, and calcium. Otherwise scoop creamy spoonfuls of traditional milk-based gelato in flavors such as apple cider, pistachio, cookie-crumb-laden chocolate, and real gingerbread pilfered from one of Santa’s construction sites. Prepared in-house every morning by Mia’s resident frozen-dessert sculptor, the gelato molds delicately into pint form for sharing with friends or withholding from neighborhood schoolchildren.

Trays of creamy gelato beckon from beneath glass at Mia Chef Gelateria, a dessert destination that takes pride in its inventive flavors and presentation. Centuries-old traditions and unique ingredients weave together to form a gourmet spread, from sicilian pistachio to spirit-infused fig and tequila to chocolate whiskey truffle. The café bakes its own pastries and brews espresso and coffee from Chicago’s Intelligentsia roasters to accompany the indulgent treats. The gelato masters also share their art in two-hour classes, highlighted in the New York Post as well as the café's family newsletter.
