Accidentally discovered during the boozy revelry of a Chinese pin factory’s New Year's party, acupuncture has since developed into both a potent alternative medicine and popular celebrity Jeopardy category. Today’s Groupon gives you a pain-free way to stay pain-free: for $45, you get an initial consultation and acupuncture treatment at NYC Points Acupuncture (a $100 value). This Groupon is valid for redemption at NYC Points Acupuncture’s locations on the East Side and the West Side of Midtown.

NYC Points employs three experienced acupuncturists who all have at least 4,000 hours of training and national certification, along with clinical internships, beneath their collective snakeskin belt. After an initial consultation to determine your individual needs and health concerns, one of these skilled practitioners of the ancient art will perform a full treatment to address the issues most relevant to your body and mind. Acupuncture operates via a network of channels the Chinese mapped, through which energy, or qi, flows through the body. Tentatively known as The Inter Net, before that name was discarded as silly, these channels revealed that the uneven flow of energy can cause disease and pain. The treatments apply hair-thin needles, usually in pain-free fashion, to key pressure points along these channels, which, according to the art of ancient Chinese medicine, affects helpful change. Evict subsurface aches from a hurting hibernation and re-introduce your body to full-figured wellness with a consultation and treatment from NYC Points Acupuncture.

You must call ahead to schedule an appointment. The Midtown East location is open Monday through Friday, and the Midtown West location is open Monday through Saturday.

Reviews

There are limited reviews for most acupuncture places, and NYC Points is no different. It does, however, get a perfect five-star average from six Citysearchers.

  • I left his office feeling better physically and with the piece of mind I did not receive from my doctor. I've already booked another appointment! – PatriceB
  • With just one treatment I was relieved from a dreadful pinched nerve which had persisted for a terrible week. – jtreeves
  • My problem went into remission after 5 years of Western treatments!!! I could not be more pleased. – raceready

  • Turmeric Humor
  • Whatever it's called when you have thin wisps of inexplicable blue smoke emanating from between your toes
  • Hungry, Hungry Hypnosis
