- 1996 Olympics rafting site
- Class III and IV whitewater
- No experience necessary
- All equipment provided
In the Victorian era, extreme sports were limited to teatime without doilies, writing witty satires about earnesty, and riding a pennyfarthing down a mild incline. Today's Groupon would shock such staid sensibilities: for $20, you get a half-day of whitewater rafting (up to $45 if used on a Saturday). All gear is provided and no prior experience is necessary.
Starting between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. (boats leave every 30–35 minutes until about 3:30 p.m.), pit yourself against nature's cold, frothy embrace on the Middle Ocoee River, rafting site of the 1996 Summer Olympics. Outdoor Adventure Rafting's professional guides will climb aboard with you and help steer you through the thrilling sights and sudsy spumes of more than 5 miles of continuous Class III–IV whitewater, with more than a dozen rapids to bump, slosh, and drop you, jostling the adrenaline loose from your brain in the process. Reservations are required, so call ahead or deliver it via creepy banjo duet.
This Groupon is not valid for Saturdays in July or August. You must be 12 or older to raft the Ocoee. See FAQ for more information.

About Outdoor Adventure Rafting
The terrain-minded tour guides at Outdoor Adventures of Tennessee (also knows as Outdoor Adventure Rafting) keep outdoor enthusiasts on the edge of their seats during whitewater rafting trips through the Ocoee River, which at one point churns with Class III and IV rapids for five straight miles. Back on land, adventurers can play paintball, rappel down a limestone bluff, or scale the low ropes course or OAR's 50’ alpine climbing tower, which puts climbers just an arm's length away from the sun. What's more, groups who want a catered breakfast, lunch, or dinner for their active days can place an order at the facility's cafe.
