Rialto Cafe

Named for the Rialto Theater, a “picture theater” that once occupied the storefront next door, Rialto Cafe harkens back to the glamorous refinement of pre-multiplex Hollywood. Visitors can complement their classic meals with sips of equally classic cocktails and wine culled from an expansive menu, or navigate dietary restrictions with plentiful vegetarian and gluten-free dishes. The eatery greets the morning with breakfasts of omelets and chicken-fried steaks, and stays open for lunch, dinner, and the late-night dining traditional among people who think restaurant tables are small, hard beds.

I enjoyed the Beef Short Ribs...slow-braised in red wine with rustic root vegetables and whipped potatoes. The house Cab paired perfectly.
