If the Indiana Jones films have taught us anything, it is that in order to have a successful teaching career, one must train one's upper body to be adept at dangling. Channel your inner action hero with today's Groupon: for $15, you get two adult admissions and two harnesses at The Quarry in Provo (up to a $30 value).
The 12,500-square-foot Quarry entertains climbers with rock-ribbed routes, an exposed bouldering area, and craggy, canyon-splitter cracks. Climbers are loaned harnesses and permitted all-day access to scale each area while Quarry employees overlook the bouldered terrain, available to assist rookie cragsmen's errant moments or epic mountaintop rap battles. The Quarry procures clamber-ready routes for both beginner and expert climbers. On the main floor, climbers can explore up to 90 top-rope and lead routes differing in difficulty, and the top floor is littered with boulders, which reach a maximum of 14 feet in height and vary in difficulty from easy to "fist-fighting a steamboat captain.” A series of fixed-width cracks along the main climbing wall are also available to test advanced dangling-and-grabbing techniques. Routes are reinvented every six to eight weeks, meaning past visitors have new surprises in store, and holds are cleaned again before each reuse, meaning past visitors can’t reclaim the love notes they stored in them. Though today's Groupon is only valid for adult admission, The Quarry also offers a variety of kid's climbing camps.
The Quarry's prices may vary during different times of the week, but this Groupon still always offers the best deal available.
