  • Pacific NW Float Trips
Dave Button grew up along Washington's Skagit River and had the inspiration to found his own company while navigating the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon under the helm of famed guide Georgie White. Soon after, Dave returned home to create Pacific NW Float Trips in 1974. Today, Dave and his crew of trained, passionate guides pioneer the routes and share their knowledge of the region's landscapes and salmon population via inspirational tours held year-round on the Skagit, Nooksack, and Wenatchee Rivers. Pacific NW's famed Bald Eagle Raft Adventure grants tourists a chance to take in the serenity of rustling cottonwoods and the majesty of Mount Baker as their guides quietly point out migratory eagles from Canada and Alaska.

  • Petosa's Guide Service
In accordance with the famous maxim, Nick Petosa sees it as his duty to do more than just give his guests a fish?he wants to teach them a thing or two as well. To that end, the owner of Petosa's Guide Service leads his fisher-folk through the Skagit, Sauk, and Sol Duc rivers in pursuit of salmon and steelhead. All the while, he taps into the deep well of knowledge that has earned him a spot as co-host on Northwest Wild Country radio, speaking engagements throughout the area, and multiple assassination attempts by local fish. But it's on the water, not the lectern, where Nick's talents manifest most visibly. Aboard his 21-foot custom-built jet sled or 16-foot Hyde Drift Boat, Nick charters his guests through the Northwest Washington waterways. He keeps his boats heated with propane and furnished with comfortable Tempress High Seats, and uses Edge Rods and reels from Shimano?equipment he stands by and relies on personally to land salmon and steelhead. Once the expedition has ended, Nick cleans and bags the fish so passengers can cook them at home without having to do the grisly prep work themselves or pay the neighborhood black bear to do it for them.

  • Good Time Dave's Fishing Charters
Before he founded Good Time Dave’s Fishing Charters, David Eves spent 10 years fishing off the west coast of Vancouver Island. As a result, he brings a vast knowledge of the water and extensive fishing experience to his trips, as well as a Transport Canada certification, marine first-aid training, and enthusiasm for his work. David chauffeurs patrons out onto the water on a 23-foot Sea Sport that seats four. The vessel aids amateur fishermen in their quest for the perfect catch with a variety of high-tech tools including a Lowrance colour sounder that uses sonar to locate areas with high concentrations of fish and a black box that infuses the water with an electrical current to attract salmon. While on an adventure, patrons can hunt and hook Pacific salmon and halibut, or enjoy the rocky surroundings and fill souvenir jars with crisp clean air.

  • Reel Obsession Sport Fishing
The fishermen lay their catches out on the dock: a haul of meaty king salmon, halibut, and toothy ling cod. The guides of Reel Obsession Sport Fishing take out anglers all year to reap catches such as these, leading charters along Victoria and Vancouver Island into prime fishing waters such as Zeballos, Esperanza Inlet, and Nootka Sound. These spots teem with different species of salmon, depending on the season. During the spring and summer, trophy chinook and coho salmon flood the waters on their way to spawn in the river systems. Some years also bring pink salmon, distinguished by their humped backs and fondness for wearing pink sweatbands. Halibut also lurk beneath the salmon runs, with occasional lunkers known as barn doors reaching more than 200 pounds. In addition to outfitting guests for salmon and halibut fishing, they also have a scenic west coast lodge and guides can also take them out for crabbing, prawning, and on wildlife tours to see bald eagles, seals, and migrating whales.
