Q&A with Melva, Owner
Do you use any products or brands you're particularly proud of? What makes them uniquely effective?
Our staffers are highly trained professionals in their field. Our massage therapists offer a multi-modality approach to maximize results. We specialize in therapeutic deep-tissue massage at our office, and offer the pampering that goes along with the spa experience, like hydrating body wraps, customized facials, hot-stone massage, and Swedish massage, to mention a few.
Our aesthetician uses Bio Elements skincare products. With Bio Elements, the aesthetician is able to customize your facial and products to your individual needs and preferences. Bio Elements is made in the USA. The company has been around since the early 1990s and has a good reputation for product purity and effectiveness. No animal testing is involved with their products, either.
What is the best reaction you?ve ever gotten from a client?
"Your office is so relaxing and comfortable."
"Your massage therapists have changed my life. Without their skillful hands, I would not be able to get through a day, much less two weeks, without pain." (This is true for myself as well. I get weekly massages to be able to maintain an active, relatively pain-free lifestyle at 60-something.)
"I'm so relaxed, I feel like Jell-O after my massage."
"I had no idea how toxic my body was until I had regular massages."
"Your massage therapists have increased the circulation in my hands and feet, and now I can ride my motorcycle for hours at a time again."
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
I worked in the chiropractic field for over 25 years. I have worked in the massage field for over 10 years, and I believe in helping people to realize their full potential for a relatively pain-free lifestyle without medication.
I, myself, am a walking success story of what a difference taking care of ourselves with regular massage can mean in the quality of our lives. It is for this reason that I have devoted over 35 years to this alternative type of healthcare.
One-hundred years. That’s how long the staff of stylists, aestheticians, and massage therapists have been collectively working in their respective fields. From styling celebrity hair at the Four Seasons Salon in Miami to training at Gene Juarez Salon to designing hair on movie sets and photo shoots, these beauticians possess the experience and talent necessary to give their clients a fresh look and boost in self-confidence. And they do so with a wide slate of beauty treatments. In the salon, Adriana and her stylists cut, color, and treat hairdos. The spa, meanwhile, features mani-pedis, acupuncture, and customized facials that pare down blemishes and wrinkles.
Four Things to Know About Ananya Spa
Ananya Spa founder Julianne started her career as a licensed massage therapist, but soon became adept at facials and waxing, too. And just as she added an aesthetician’s license to her repertoire, she’s also added a bevy of treatments to Ananya’s service menu over time. Read on to learn more about Ananya Spa and the spirituality that infuses its treatments:
You may have seen the spa in Allure Magazine. Writers for the beauty mag kicked off a list of Seattle's best body treatments with an Ananya mention, highlighting the massage therapy skills of then-staffer Jessica Farrell.
Massages provide relaxation with international flavor. In addition to the classic Swedish massage, clients can also choose from intense Thai massages, relaxing Hawaiian lomi lomi massages, and gentle Indian Sundari massages.
When it comes to skincare, you can go futuristic or more natural. More clinical facial treatments rely on injections or freeze-dried collagen, while a host of natural treatments use simple botanical ingredients ranging from lavender essential oil to coconut and honey.
Packages make total rejuvenation simple. A total of 13 packages unite specific massages, facials, mani-pedis, and wraps for pampering sessions that last 90 minutes to seven hours long.
Like a cake, Napolitano Day Spa Salon is made up of layers, each as tempting as the last. At first glance, the Spa Salon appears to be a boutique. In its orange-walled entrance room, wooden tables and racks showcase clothing, accessories, and beauty products to a soundtrack of modern music. As clients journey past one of the center's two burbling fountains, they enter the salon space, where a team of stylists customizes hair with fashionable cuts and flattering colors. Farther back still, past the bustling stylist stations, is a haven of peace embodied by private spa-treatment rooms, soothing music, and a relaxation room filled with complimentary tea and flattering whispers.
Awarded Seattle Met's Best Facial of 2008, the spa refines visages with nine options that harness Dermalogica and Jan Marini products. Each one comes with a personalized routine for home care, an herbal foot soak with lavender and rosemary, and their signature recipe of non-invasive clinical therapies. Meanwhile, French seaweed, algae, and personalized aromatherapy lend body wraps and massages a touch of nourishment and help clients to prepare for dates with handsome lake monsters.
The staff at Aveda Caruh Salon knows what it?s like to want to bring your inner beauty to the outside. As their website says, ?We think our exterior of our building looks awful and are glad that ?beauty is on the inside.?? They may not be able to do much with the exterior, but owner Cyndi DeSoto and her salon and spa teams bring the beauty of their clients to the forefront with hair and skin services that use plant-based Aveda products and organic essential oils squeezed from delicate flower organs.
Since it opened in 1988, the salon has not only expanded its space and gone from styling mullets to long layers and pixie cuts, it?s also been voted one of the Top 200 Salons in America by Salon Today magazine. It isn?t just the precision cuts and colors, clarifying facials, or muscle-soothing massages that make it a top salon; it?s also the exuberant spirit of the staff. On average, Caruh donates about $40,000 per year to local charities, and every first Thursday, the salon closes for three hours for the staff to meet, bond, and celebrate successes.
