A nonprofit organization, Shoestring City Ranch is run by instructors that dedicate their time to teach teamwork and leadership skills to city-slicker kids by having them work with rescued animals. The environmentally friendly ranch hosts clinics on communicating with pets and group horseback-riding classes that teach everyone from tots to adults how to groom and ride. They also host fun events in addition to classes, such as the 5K Gallop and 1-Mile Tot Trot and a Roping Clinic 101, where a professional rodeo cowboy teaches students how to use a lasso.

Hoops on Fire Athletics specializes in practical drills designed to elevate players' skills on the basketball court. Whether leading private, group, or team lessons, the instructors help improve players' vertical jump, agility, and footwork through techniques such as plyometrics, kettlebell training, and basketball-specific speed drills. In basketball lessons or clinics for volleyball and other sports, participants learn skills specifically for use in-game, rather than practicing generalized workouts.

Sky Zone fully embodies the concept of bouncing off the walls, as the facility is lined with gigantic trampolines on the floors and angled trampolines on adjacent walls. Ideal for people of all ages, shapes, and physical abilities, the trampolines unite to form one massive sea of bouncy terrain, upon which visitors can play or compete with hanging basketball hoops. Sky Zone is home to Ultimate dodgeball, an interactive twist on the classic playground sport that has teams jumping and dodging at new heights. Additionally, the park is great for birthdays and special events. Serious boot camps and aerobics courses allow guests to get into shape and have fun at the same time, unlike running from a stampede of buffalo.

The Rinks offers both inline and ice skating for all ages and all skill levels. The Westminster and Yorba Linda centers boast NHL-size rinks, and Anaheim and Lakewood boast Olympic-size rinks. In addition, Anaheim's league-certified surface is used as the official training facility of the Anaheim Ducks. Skaters can take to the ice for classes on such blade-top pursuits as hockey, figure skating, public skating, curling, broomball, and more. For the ice-averse, The Rinks has three inline-skating centers in Corona, Huntington Beach, and Irvine which play host to youth and adult roller hockey leagues, skating clinics, public skates, and more. Open-skate sessions give aficionados the chance to take a few laps with friends and family, riding atop their own blades or donning a rental pair from the front desk. On Friday and Saturday nights, rinks morph into icy dance clubs, blasting hit music booming through the speakers and projecting music videos onto a jumbo screen. Birthday packages are also available at both locations.

Just come with an open mind. We go over the basics when we have new students.

What is the one feature of your business that you're most proud of?

That over 99% of our students improve. They usually end up in competition at the high school level, satellite, or open level tournaments.

What is the most enjoyable part of your job?

Watching a student grow and improve year to year. Not just [in] tennis skills, but [in] other attributes such as practice, dedication, loyalty, respect, and perseverance.

Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?

We offer private lessons if you need extra help in the class.
