Founded in 1996, Seaside Shotokan gives students of all levels the opportunity to learn from the expert yoga and fitness instructors. Within a 1,500-square-foot studio with sprung hardwood floors, these trainers oversee a variety of fitness classes with sessions for power yoga, Zumba dance fitness, and stretching classes for martial artists and out-of-shape Koosh balls.
An oasis in downtown Manhattan Beach, The Guru?s Gate fosters an environment of health and wellness through soothing Yoga and meditation sessions and healing therapies. Lisa Vitta, a Kundalini Research Institute?certified instructor, owns the studio and has handpicked an encouraging staff of her very own ?gurus,? including Yoga and Pilates instructors, physical therapists, and chiropractors. Together, the team hosts an array of sessions such as healing circles, energy therapy, subconscious programming, and a selection of nearly 30 Yoga and healing classes, from the classics, such as mat Pilates and Vinyasa flow, to sessions tailored specifically to pregnant women, new moms, and even kids themselves.
Beyond the wood-floored Yoga and meditation studio, The Guru?s Gate opens to private rooms for one-on-one holistic wellness therapy sessions, such as reiki, prenatal massage, and a stress-reducing phenomenon called the Emotional Freedom technique, which combines gentle taps on key meridian points with positive affirmations. Clients can also stop in for The Guru's Glow organic spray tan, or to simply peruse the onsite boutique, stocked with eco-friendly Yoga clothing, organic juices, and even Dr. Alkaitis Skin Holistic Organic Skin Food products made solely from living, edible ingredients, such as fruit or self-aware Twizzlers.
Sweatfit LA’s co-owners, Brian Tucker and Sam Lopez, both hold personal-training certifications, which they use to create workouts that blend both exercise theory and fitness training. During personal-training sessions and small-group training classes, they design workouts that incorporate dynamic, stationary, and ballistic movements to maximize caloric expenditure and help clients achieve a sculpted body. The rest of the Sweatfit LA team rounds out a full menu of classes that includes cardio kickboxing, Zumba, yoga, and Pilates.
The instructors at Fuse Fitness For Women know that people are less likely to work out when they view exercise as excruciating work. That's why they fuse resistance training and core-strengthening classes with dance moves, giving each class the upbeat vibe of a party. Patrons can tone muscles and burn calories in classes such as Hula Hoop or Kick & Tone, or opt for a Zum-belly or Hot Zumba class. Students can also seek out nutritional advice from fitness specialists or request one-on-one training.
