Licensed stylist Jane Elmer and her staff create stylish cuts and lush locks in her cozy Solvay salon, taking clients through a thorough consultation before every treatment and explaining products and techniques to ensure every style can be recreated at home, on vacations, or high atop a ferris wheel. Brazilian blowouts forge stronger, smoother, healthier hair through a 90-minute static-sapping and cuticle-calming process that coats hair in a protective layer of protein, leaving locks shiny, straight, and glowing for up to 12 weeks.

Sammi's skilled stylists foster confidence in coiffures with inimitable designer hairstyles. An artfully crafted haircut ($22–$32, depending on length) abbreviates overgrown strands, and a perm ($65–$85) adds bounce to limp locks. Hair-coloring products blended from natural beeswax, organic soy paste, and nutrient-rich minerals ($56) hide gray strands and add dimension to manes. Coax inner beauty to the surface with a full head of candy curls, which makes an ideal accessory for launching a career as a Shirley Temple stunt double ($55). Guests can gussy themselves up before a night on the town with a soothing wash and blowout ($26) or an eye-catching updo ($60+).

1900 Brewerton Rd

Ensconced in the tonsorium's comfortable chairs and chocolate-brown walls, Visions' friendly staff pampers patrons with a variety of hair services. Satisfy chroma cravings at the salon's color bar, which serves up margarita and shot glasses full of dye for tinting tresses a variety of handsome hues ($60+). Before whacking away head weeds with tightly wound trimmers during a women's haircut ($27+), stylists will soap up languid locks with Paul Mitchell Awapuhi shampoo and conditioner, which is distilled from a native Hawaiian flower with healing tinctures that help to repair damaged hair. Meanwhile, the salon's specialty Brazilian blowout, beats back frizzy bushes with a 90-minute keratin treatment that leaves hair sleeker, more manageable, and less likely to throw tantrums at the mall for up to 12 weeks ($175).

7575 Buckley Rd

At Unique Salon, expert cosmetologists doll up patrons with an inventory of all-natural products in haircuts, coloring, and skincare services. Clients can prevent flowing manes from tangling on low-flying planes with a haircut package, in which scissors shape desired styles and a deep conditioner quenches parched follicles' thirst. Afterward, a waxing treatment banishes bristles from upper lips, eyebrows, or other small regions. Alternatively, customers can indulge epidermises with a one-hour facial, during which a hot pack soothes areas such as the back and feet as moisturizing essential oils stimulate blood vessels. Customers who opt for the coloring package receive both a haircut and conditioning treatment, and can coordinate their locks with a favorite striped sweater after receiving the highlight-coloring service.

A scalp massage is complimentary for every visit.

What other services do you offer besides haircuts?

Inside Adagio Salon, hickory hardwood floors, oak-trimmed archways, and neutral tones create a space that's both stylish and relaxed—much like the salon's services themselves. The team of expert stylists use Moroccanoil and Kevin Murphy products to design a hairstyle that accentuate a client’s natural features, or they might install hair extensions for some added length. Elsewhere, aesthetician Yvette Remington uses eco-friendly products to target skin damage with several fruit-infused facials, including a pumpkin-peel facial that smells of Halloweens spent hugging every jack-o’-lantern in sight.
