What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?

At the studio, we offer handmade crafts - made to order. Painting your own wood sign, building a wooden toy, exploring art or tinkering with gadgets, Boardwalk wants to be a part of your families activities. Boardwalk is dedicated to the health of our participamts and our planet. We have embraced a 100% water-based paint/stain process that helps eliminate odors, solvent cleanup or hazardous waste storage. Each design is created in-house and we welcome custom requests.

What was the inspiration to start or run this business?

With over 17 years of 'making things' - we have shared my passion with others around the Midwest. We enjoy the creativity of our students and the passion to experience something unique. We have grown to a brick and mortar studio so that we can offer classes consistently to more people.

What do you love most about your job?

I love working with wood and showing participants of all ages the creative possibilities with different types of woods, paints/stains and techniques.

What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?

Pride in a finished project. It's really rewarding to watch a student begin a project with bits and pieces of wood - unsure of their skills, then leave with a project that they didn't think was possible.
