The decor was confused. French wine posters in a Mediterranean restaurant? Maybe some tall bushes in front of the patio so you don't get the view of the car park...

the food was mediocre and they ran out of dessert, the location problematic (inside gloomy, outside on the street facing auto workshops)

Decor is out of date. Food portions were relatively small however it was pretty good. I frequent an authentic Mediterranean restaurant in Springfield, MA and was surprised that the menu here was small and there weren't a lot of choices. Beer wasn't cold. Hot and muggy inside the restaurant. Music selection was alt rock (which I don't mind listening to) - not appropriate/expected for the atmosphere. There was no one else at the restaurant from 5:45pm-6:45pm, then only a few people came in. Restrooms were beyond dirty - a NYC subway restroom is cleaner. There was debris of some sort coming out of the floor drain when the toilet was flushed.

Yes, the tables were too small for four people and both tables were tried were unsteady, must do something about that, offputting. $9 for a glass of wine was about $1 overpriced.

You need to serve better quality food as you did in Cambridge. We eat Middle Eastern food often and like trying new places. The food was really bad; couldn't eat it. Things were fried too much and rice pilaf which should be signature was fair at best. Sorry but they are going to have to try harder or they will not get return customers.

From Our Editors

Slow-smoked meats and Mediterranean décor anchor the menu and atmosphere of Casbah Restaurant, a cozy eatery coupling Middle Eastern starters and small plates with robust entrees such as spiced kofte skewers grilled with almond couscous. Steeped in red-hued lighting and the glow from flat-screen TVs mounted on the wall, the dining room echoes with “live dinner tunes” pouring “from a small stage,” as reported by Thrillist.com. Top-shelf spirits tower over a marble bar equipped with tap handles that trigger a trap door under evil henchmen posing as innocent diners.
