About Makutu's Island

Arizona may be known for its desert, but if you look hard enough, you'll find the state also houses a tropical island. It's Makutu's Island, an indoor play center designed to look and feel like a lush, equatorial getaway complete with a lush green tree, snake slide, and saltwater aquarium.

The epicenter of the fun is a giant banana tree, its interior filled with tunnels, tubes, poles, and slides. There's even a 35-foot slide, the snake slide, wrapped around its exterior. Other activities range from arcade games, bungee trampoline, mini zip tracker, and birthday party packages.

While kids dash about, parents can relax in the parent's lounge, which features free WiFi, and numerous outlets for phones and laptops lugged from home.

What a fun place to play! My son and his cousin ran around for hours and loved their time there. It was nice to sit in a massage chair and relax while they were playing. The food was tasty and the service was friendly and timely. We will be back!

I bought this Groupon thinking I was getting a good deal but then realized that I paid $70 for my 4 kids to play for 2 hours in an indoor playground. (The goal was 3 hours but the kids were bored.) two of my kids came home with injuries- one from a zip tie holding together ropes and the other was on zip ties on a ladder. I was also super annoyed that the front counter employee followed me into the play area to ensure that I was wearing their specific grip socks, which I find to be a complete scam in general. Grip socks are grip socks and we shouldn’t have to buy a new set at every single indoor play facility! Anyways, I found it to be really rude that he followed us in. He then forced us to buy the socks at $3.50 each x 4. By the end I paid $85 for my children to play at makutu’s when we could have played at the park for free instead!
