About International Capoeira School

The International Capoeira School was founded in 2013 by Mestre Esquilo. Bruno Melo, known internationally as Mestre Esquilo, started training capoeira at the age of 10. He has been adamantly dedicated to the art of Capoeira for 23 years including traveling the world extensively sharing his knowledge and passion for capoeira and other aspects of Brazilian culture. The International Capoeira School of Charlotte has been in Charlotte since February 2013. They have performed at various events in Charlotte and the surround areas including A Night In Rio, Charlotte Latin Festival, and CIAA. They have worked with Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools, Charlotte-Mecklenburg libraries, UNCC and Wingate University giving workshops and performances on capoeira and Afro-Brazilian culture.

The International Capoeira School offers classes to kids and adults 6 day a week taught by head instructor Contra-Mestre Zumbi at their academy located at 2609 Central Ave Charlotte, NC 28205.
