While working as a radiation therapist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Lesley M. Heidrich met an anesthesiologist from Children's Memorial Hospital who raved about the therapeutic affects of ear acupuncture on her young patients and, in some cases, their anxious parents. Intrigued, Heidrich attended Midwest College of Oriental Medicine and began learning about the ancient therapy. Now Heidrich is the one raving about acupuncture. At her own clinic, she uses it to help people who are suffering from ailments such as pain, anxiety, and stress.
