About this Business
From Our Editors
Despite Chef Holly Willoughy's expert crafting of French-inspired dishes, Aquitaine serves its customers with a Midwestern approachability. The polished menu includes Nice-inspired saffron cream mussels, perennial favorite apple-braised pork shoulder, and a duck confit crepe draped in a savory-sweet maple-shallot butter. She even incorporates the same ingredients into French and American favorites, stirring some dishes into servings of macaroni and cheese. Complementing these tastes are affordable wines, artisanal cocktails, and a rotating selection of craft beers.
Inside Aquitaine's intimate dining room, guests devour these dishes while seated at white-clothed tables. These abut the high-backed red leather bench that runs along one of the restaurant's black walls, which are decorated with intricate silver designs. The walls also host closely cropped prints of famous paintings, such as the Mona Lisa, whose half-smile tells us how annoyed she was at Leonardo da Vinci for making her sit so long without letting her have a snack.
